fter over a year of work, I'm excited to announce that my new film and companion album Remote Viewing Memories will be released on April 24th. The had it's world premiere late last year at DOC NYC.
It's a completely found-footage doc, and it's the result of a ton of research on my part. I initially got interested in the topic after purchasing a VHS tape at a local thrift store - all it said on it was 'Psi-Tech, The Impossible Challenge.' I was obviously intrigued! It turned out that the tape was a largely un-edited interview with Ed Dames, a name that will be immediately familiar to anyone interested in paranormal conspiracy theories (he was a regular on Coast-To-Coast AM for years). Dames specializes in Remote Viewing - a psychic technique whose practicers claim allows them to see anywhere on earth, both in the past and future.
'Remote Viewing Memories' - New Film and Album out
By Garret Harkawik
I initially set out to make an esoteric, weird little piece based off Dames' interview but after digging up more and more material I realized I could put together a fairly straight-forward short doc about the history of Psi-Tech (Dames' company), and his relationship with Joni Dourif (ex-wife of actor Brad Dourif). The result is a 23-minute film which spans thirty years of psychic history.
The accompanying album is made up of expanded / reimagined versions of the music I composed for the film. The first single I Needed More was released late last year and the second single Pattern Of Information is out today.
The film will be available here and on Vimeo, and the album will be available on all major platforms starting April 24th. It can be preordered below:
